An Inspector Calls commissioned for BBC One season

Drama Republic has been commissioned to produce a new 90’ version of JB Priestley’s play An Inspector Calls to be directed by BAFTA winning Aisling Walsh for BBC One.

Priestley’s classic and hugely popular stage play was written in 1945 when the Western World  was undergoing sweeping transformations. Following the very first production in the Soviet Union in the same year, it has enjoyed worldwide success ever since.

Drama Republic’s Greg Brenman says: “JB Priestley’s An Inspector Calls is a timeless masterpiece that is as entertaining as it is meaningful. It is such an honour for us to be making this with the BBC.”

An Inspector Calls will be executive produced by  Greg Brenman and Roanna Benn. Aisling Walsh (Room at the Top, Fingersmith) is attached to direct.
