Drama Republic is thrilled to announce that the second series of My Mad Fat Diary has been nominated for a Broadcast Digital award in the Best Scripted Programme category. First transmitted in February this year, the Tom Bidwell penned tale of a teenage girl making sense of the world in 1990’s Lincolnshire whilst battling mental health issues, was a hit for broadcaster E4. Building upon the success of the first series that garnered BAFTA and RTS award nominations, My Mad Fat Diary was a ratings winner and garnered critical acclaim.
Executive producers Roanna Benn and Jude Liknaitzky said “We’re thrilled that Drama Republic has received this nomination. We fell in love with this show when we produced it at Tiger Aspect, and to have collaborated with them on the second series was fantastic. Tom’s beautiful scripts and the stunning work from Sharon Rooney, the rest of the cast and all the crew has made this show what it is. We couldn’t be happier.”
