King Charles III nominated for two BAFTA Awards

Drama Republic are thrilled to announce that King Charles III – a film adaptation based on the Olivier award winning play – has received two nominations for the 2018 Bafta Television Awards: Best Lead Actor and Best Single Drama.

Best Lead Actor nominee Tim Pigott-Smith is the first actor to be recognised posthumously in this category. He passed away in April 2017 at the age of 70, a month before the programme aired on BBC Two. It went on to be called “the boldest BBC show of the year”.

The nominations were announced in London on Wednesday 4 April. The ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday 13 May.
