Suranne Jones wins at Royal Television Society Programme Awards for Doctor Foster

Suranne Jones has been crowned Best Female Actor in the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2016, recognising her breath taking performance in hit BBC One drama, Doctor Foster.

While Suranne couldn’t be present herself at the Awards, the prize was collected on her behalf by young co-star Tom Taylor (who plays Dr Gemma Foster’s son).

In her acceptance speech, as read out by Tom, Suranne thanked the show’s writer Mike Bartlett, as well as Drama Republic and the whole cast and crew who worked on the production. Suranne also mentioned her excitement at seeing where Gemma’s character will go in the show’s second series, due to begin filming later this year.
